This is part of a driftwood plank , washed up at slapton sands in south Devon, complete with all the original markings, holes and characteristics stylised by the sea. This is a wall hanging with a Brown Hare design created using acrylic paint and sealed.
 
The colourings are quite exceptional on these creatures. There's so much more to them than just brown and white , which I hope i've managed to portray in my depiction of a here.
 
It was inspired by a beautiful Leverate (young hare) I saw on an early morning walk near to where I live. I had the pleasure of watching her for about five minutes. Coincidentally, this tied in with the fact I'd just finish reading a book called Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton - a beautiful insightful book and so endearing.
 
Complete with wire hanging for ease and finished with three layers of matt lacquer for protection
