Cherrywood discard from a local arborist in Devon made into an art block with a wood burnt Mackerel design added using the pyrography method. Perfect for displaying on a shelf or mantle piece. With the unusual makeup of this piece I felt it was like an underwater crevice the fish has just swum out of. 

Inspired by local fisherman. Their markings are simply stunning and each fish unique like a fingerprint, so recreating them is a must. Absolute delight to create this piece with added white iredescent blues and greens to emphasise their trademark colouring. 
 
Wire hung, finished with 2 layers of matt lacquer for protection.
